Competition Program for 2009 - 2010

Intensive Workshop for Competition Team Placement will be taking place in August. (Time yet to be determined.)

This is a mixed age class. Students will be separated at instructors discretion as needed.

Auditions/Intensive Workshop fee: $175.00

It is highly suggested that students interested in auditioning for a Competition Team attend technique classes in the month of July.

The intensive workshop is mandatory for anyone interested in auditioning for our 2009-2010 Competition Teams. Students will be learn short routines in ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz and/or funk fusion. (Students unable to attend the workshop may set up up a private meeting with instructors to discuss options. They are still required to pay the $175.00 fee to be eligible for the 2009-2010 Competition Team).

Auditions will take place in August. Academy will be open at 9:00 am for students to stretch, warm up and practice on their own. Results will be available no later than 8:00 pm that evening. (We may announce it immediately following auditions).

Getting to Know You: We will be having a competition team information meeting for parents on Sunday, August 2 at 6:30 pm. Join us for coffee, punch and cookies. Meet fellow parents, share dancing stories, and gather information about being a Competition Team family. There will be a question and answer time to ask current competition parents about their experiences.

Blast Off! Sunday August 23. The kick off to the 2009-2010 Competition Teams. Information meeting will begin at 5:30 pm. Please bring a potluck item to share for immediately following the meeting around 6:30pm. We will be going over the guidelines, expectations, assigning Big/Little Siblings, handing out calendars, and getting to know one another. This meeting is mandatory for all families who will have a dancer on a Competition Team for the 2009-2010 year.
